Research Team
Recognizing that it ALWAYS takes a village, we pool our knowledge for you.

Maria Blais O’Laughlin
Pro Genealogist & Owner
A graduate of Boston University’s Advanced
Genealogical Research Certificate Program and a contractor with Ancestry’s Pro Genealogists, Maria the ex-coprorate analyst loves nothing more than hunting proverbial needles in historical
haystacks.
With over ten years’ experience in family
history research, she specializes in Ellis Island immigration, DNA Analysis,
Adoption Heritage, and Storytelling. If you have scandals to find, Maria is your girl.

Abby Peart-Camarato
Contracting Genealogist
Maria met Abby in their classes at BU and knew
right away she wanted to work with her.
Aside from being hilarious and fun, Abby is meticulous
in her research yet brings a warmth and humanity to her narrative writing.
She loves
to do house histories, where she investigates not only the property, (nobody knows land records like Abby), but
also the family that worked the land and made the house a home.

Cheryl Nestler Odell
Consulting Genealogist
Another graduate of Boston University’s
Advanced Genealogical Research Certificate Program, Cheryl knows the War of
American Independence like it happened in her backyard. (Which is hilarious, since she’s from California.)
Our go-to expert in Lineage Societies, Cheryl is active as a DAR Chapter Regent, and State Committee Chair. She has her own family history business, but we love her so much, we drag her over
to play when we can.

Laura Brickhouse Dickson
Research Operations
Laura’s the resident mathematician, and she researches like one. She’s detailed, she’s focused,
and she’s ALL about facts adding up.
In genealogy, like in math, facts run the show.
Mostly, though, Laura helps to make sure that our memberships to repositories and historical associations are paid up, and we don’t
spend more than we make. If Maria doesn’t stop giving away free t-shirts,
she’s going to have to get tough…
Document Detectives
With nearly three quarters of the world’s historical records not yet digitized, much of what we need to find for you is still hiding in libraries, archives and historical repositories. Our network of intrepid researchers is then deployed to acquire and sometimes translate documents – resulting in cost savings for you, our clients.
